Can I own Property in Roatan?
Yes. For properties under 3/4 of an acre, the property can be purchased in your own name. For properties over 3/4 of an acre, the property must go in to a corporation.
Do I need to be a resident to buy? No
Why use a realtor?
Are your interests being protected? While buying privately is possible, do you know the steps? Do you know what taxes, and fees you are actually responsible for? We hear stories all the time about sellers charging fees, taxes that they are responsible for. Who will hold escrow? Do you trust the seller for them to sign the property over to you once you have signed? Do you trust the lawyer? Who recommended them to you? Its a complicated process, trust the professionals and hire a licensed international realtor.

Cemesa is a brand new private hospital located in French Harbour with all the facilities needed to have that peace of mind in case you have an emergency. Several other private clinics on the island to treat you also.
Pharmacies carry a wide variety of medications and other healthcare products.

The west part of the island is known for its restaurants, night life, beaches, resorts and diving.
The east part of the island is known for its tranquility, mangrove tours, cultural tours, diving, beaches, restaurants. We always recommend to our clients to come and experience island life to get a feel for what the island is all about!
